The University Department of Maithili, T.M. Bhagalpur University has hosted seminar in 1991 which was chaired by the Shanty Academy Laureate Prof. Mayanand Mishra .

The Department instituted Maheshwari Singh ‘Mahesh’ memorial lectures in which state level reputed teachers were invited.

Vidyapati Parv Samaroh were organized several years with the joint co-ordination of Mithila Parishad and University Dept. of Maithili to enlighten the history of Maithili, Mithila and Maithli.

A Journal named “Bhumija” was also Published on this occasion.
