Pahalgam Terror Attack 22 April 2025, The terrorists are active from the time of partition and have done many attacks on different areas of Jammu Kashmir like the Pulwama Attack of 2019, attacks on Civilians of Rajouri in 2023 and many more but the latest update from Kashmir of 22 April, 2025 that there is another devastating terror attack took place in the Picturesque Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam of Jammu & Kashmir which leads to death of at least 26 tourists and also around three dozen of the tourists got serious injuries. Over the last many years, these attacks have made a mark as the deadliest attack done by the terrorists on Civilians.
More about the Attack
No one knows exactly what happened there, but according to some eyewitnesses and the official reports of the departments, there are around 40 tourists were available on the Baisaran ground of grass, and at that time, a voice opened fire observed along with the terrorist. Also, the military and armed forces were also there.
The terrorists are four in number, as per the reports, who only targeted the tourists and at close range, so that they can target a high number of tourists, and it is shameful that they succeeded in their aim. The tourists don’t even have that much time to react or seek shelter as the attack was very brutal and sudden. Among all of the tourists, there is one survivor who shares the experience about the incident: “My husband was shot in the head right in front of me. We were enjoying the serene beauty of the ground of grass when chaos erupted.”
Who were the Major Victims of the Attack?
If we talk about the victims, then the majority of them were Indians which including the tourists of different states who visited the place for tourism purposes and got this unexpected damage. Among those there was a man from Uttar Pradesh and was married recently and went there for his honeymoon His life was cut to a short period also another tourists couple from Rajasthan got injuries in that attack, and after that there were many more who got major damage and they are also from the India of different regions.
Among all the victims, some are still not identified, and the agency of related departments is working on it to find out their families to notify them about the incident and provide necessary help. The entire nation got a shock related to the incident and expressed solidarity with the families of the victims.
Main Motive of the Attack
The attack happened, and even after one day, there is no group who has claimed responsibility for the attack officially. But the investigation of previous attacks states that this could be done but the militants who generally oppose the Indian controls on Kashmir. Also,o another group that has been linked to Laskar-e-Taiba, named The Resistance Front, is suspected behind the damage.
Some reports also confirmed that the terrorists first confirmed the religion of the particular tourists and then targeted the targeted religion and shot down and converted the entire place into violence. Also, this is possible that the motive of the attack is to send a message towards the changes of democratic rules in Kashmir and also to create fear among the tourists and civilians.
Government action on the Attack
The Indian authorities have released an order to find the culprits behind the attack in the afternoon of the attack. An operation across the related valley has been done by the forces related to the security, likethe CRPF, Army and also the Jammu & Kashmir Police to find the reason for the attack with a wide range of radius 5 kilometres so that the exact location and culprits can be identified.
The Home Minister of India, Amit Shah, also visited the place of the incident to pay the victims and to have a look at the investigation that was going on. Also, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, spoke about the incident and gave the statement in the words: “The perpetrators of this heinous act will not be spared. Justice will be delivered.” The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also involved in the investigation to get the results as soon as possible.
History behind the attacks in Jammu & Kashmir
This attack is also a repetition of various attacks done in the past history of Jammu & Kashmir, which target civilians and also tourists. As if we discuss only about the Pahalgam then there was another attack that happened in 2000 which takes life of over 30 individuals which was done on the base camp of Amarnath in Pahalgam Also this was happened multiple times in the past as 13 pilgrims in 2001 and 11 pilgrims in 2002 were killed in these assaults.

The attacks on Jammu Kashmir over the past 30 years have already provide a great impact on tourism as the number of tourists is not so much because of the fear of terror attacks.
